Overview
Pushkar is a city, near Ajmer City and headquarters of Pushkar tehsil in the Ajmer district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is situated about 10 km northwest of Ajmer and about 150 kilometres southwest of Jaipur. It is a pilgrimage site for Hindus and Sikhs. Pushkar has many temples.
The city of Pushkar is home to the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in the whole world. Hindus consider a journey to Pushkar to be the ultimate pilgrimage that must be undertaken to attain salvation.
Hindu mythological beliefs, it is believed that Goddess Saraswati, the first consort of Lord Brahma, cursed Brahma that he would only be worshipped in the Pushkar city. This is the reason why there is only one temple dedicated to Lord Brahma in Pushkar.
While the weather and festivities in Pushkar stay alive all year long, the best time to visit the holy town is between November and March. During this time, the weather is pleasant, and the desert is a whole lot friendlier for those day-long safaris.

Pushkar Fair is one of India’s largest camel, horse, and cattle fairs. Livestock is traded, and competitions and events are organized. It is also an important pilgrimage place for Hindus to dip in the Pushkar Lake to wash away their sins.
The nearest airport to Pushkar is in Jaipur, which is 140 kilometres away. The airport is well-connected to major metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, kolkata. Once you reach at the airport, you can hire a cab to reach Pushkar. The journey from airport to the city will take approximately 3 hours.
