Nainital

Overview

Nainital is a Himalayan resort town in the Kumaon region of India’s Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of roughly 2,000m. Formerly a British hill station, it’s set around Nainital Lake, a popular boating site with Naina Devi Hindu Temple on its north shore. A cable car runs to Snow View observation point (at 2,270m), with vistas over the town and mountains including Nanda Devi, Uttarakhand’s highest peak.

Nainital Lake, Snow View, Tiffin Top, GB Pant High Altitude Zoo, Naina Devi Temple, and Hanuman Garhi are amongst the top tourist attractions to visit on a 2 days trip to Nainital.

The “peak period” or “peak season” is a time of year when retailers, and especially online retailers, experience a significant increase in sales. This is usually due to cultural events or major promotional offers organized by all players in the retail industry to boost their sales.

Kathgodham Railway Station, located around 34 km away, is the nearest railhead to Nainital. Plenty of trains connect Nainital with Delhi and Dehradun. Passengers coming from Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra and Mathura, can even take a train till Kathgodam and then hire a private cab or shared taxi for Nainital.
