Mashobra

Overview

Mashobra is a town in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. It is connected to the state capital Shimla through the historic Hindustan–Tibet Road built in 1850 by Lord Dalhousie.

If you come to Mashobra, you just do not miss one of Asia’s largest watersheds, supplying water to Shimla. The Reserve Forest Sanctuary is a must visit not only for being popular in the continent, but for the lush coniferous cover surrounding it, but also because it is a birdwatcher’s delight.

April to June months is the best time to visit Mashobra. Mashobra weather in summer is ideal to visit the town with its clear sky and longer days. The place is in full bloom during March and April with pretty flowers covering Mashobra hills. Mashobra in winters is very cold and covered with a thick blanket of snow.
